The Bedford Area Educational Foundation also offers a variety of other ways to contribute. By selecting the best gift option, you may maximize your tax deduction. Contributions are tax deductible under the provisions of Section S170(c) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Your tax-deductible donation can be directed to the endowment fund (your gift remains in the fund to continue earning while the investment income is distributed for teacher requests) or the current program fund (to be distributed for approved teacher requests).

Bedford County Public School Employee Payroll Deduction Program
Bedford County Public School Employees can easily donate to the Foundation through a payroll deduction program. Simply DOWNLOAD the attached document (click here), print, complete the information, sign and submit to Ryan Edwards or your finance department.
Cash Gifts
Donations are greatly appreciated and are fully tax deductible. The Foundation will provide a thank you note and receipt for your tax purposes. Talk to our Director if you have certain requests about specific programs or schools you are interested in supporting.

United Way Contributions
If your company participates in the United Way campaign, please consider the Foundation when making a pledge. Simply designate the Bedford Area Educational Foundation as your choice of charity on your pledge form. The United Way honors any designation of a nonprofit community service organization.
VA State Tax Return
Individuals and businesses can make a voluntary contribution via their VA state tax return. Line 24 on VA Form 760 allows you to contribute to various organizations using the attached schedule ADJ line 23. The Bedford Area Educational Foundation code is 019001.
Fundraisers
For your convenience, the Foundation will mail letters updating you on our progress and include envelopes for your donation on a semi-annual basis. Please contact our Director at 540-587-8744 or info@bedfordeducation.com to be added to the mailing list.
Memorial and Honor Gifts
You may contribute to The Bedford Area Educational Foundation in memory of a loved one, friend, or colleague or to commemorate a special occasion. The Foundation will acknowledge your gift by letter to the person(s) you designate and will also provide written acknowledgment to you. This would be a great teacher gift! Please email or call the Foundation for further information.
Matching Funds
The Bedford Area Educational Foundation gladly accepts matching contributions from employers. Please ask your employer if they participate in matching fund programs for charities. If they do, please ask them to match your gift.
